  NEW DELHI ( July 02 )- India’s Economic Survey for 2008-09 tabled in parliament Thursday has called for decontrolling petrol and diesel prices at the earliest even as the opposition protested the fuel price hike announced a day earlier.

  The government increased petrol and diesel prices by nearly 10 percent Wednesday, citing as a reason the climbing international oil price which has increased the burden on the state-owned oil marketing companies.

  The survey said as long as domestic prices remained below the cost of imports, demand would increase, accentuating the negative impact of the terms of trade effect on national income. Read more »

  Mysore 02/02/2009 : Two persons were killed in a communal clash at Udayagiri extension area in Mysore on Thursday after a religious school was allegedly desecrated, police said.

  As the news about the desecration spread, members of one community armed with batons and weapons came out onto the streets and abused members of another community, leading to angry exchange of words. This led to clashes, they said.

  During the years of Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Khan married Reena Dutta. His parents did not approve of their marriage because of Reena Dutta not being a Muslim. As a result, Khan’s marriage stayed a secret both from his parents and the media for a while.

  Dutta made a brief appearance in the popular song sequence Papa Kehte Hain in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. The story of Khan’s marriage garnered major public attention when it was first revealed. Even so, Reena Dutta maintained a low profile and continued her job at a travel agency.

  They had two children, a son named Junaid and a daughter, Ira, and led a quiet family life away from the public eye. Reena was involved, briefly, in Khan’s career when she worked as a producer for Lagaan.

  In December 2002, Khan filed for divorce, ending the 15-year marriage, with Reena taking the custody of both their children. On December 28, 2005, he married Kiran Rao who had been an assistant director to Ashutosh Gowariker during the filming of Lagaan.

• Vodafone Zoozoos TV Ads Aren’t Animated in IPL Season 2

  Vodafone Zoozoos TV Ads Aren’t Animated they are actually real humans in the Zoozoo costumes.

  ZooZoos are advertisement characters promoted by Vodafone during the Indian Premier League Season 2 (IPL). Zoozoos are white, ghost-like creatures with ballooned bodies and egg heads who are used to promote various value added services of Vodafone. These ads though look animated are actually real humans in the Zoozoo costumes. The ads were created by Ogilvy & Mather, an agency that handles Vodafone advertisements and the films were shot by Bangalore based Nirvana Films in Cape Town, South Africa.

  Vodafone has an IPL microsite for quizzes and contests where one can know the kind of Zoozoo he or she is as each Zoozoo character has a unique set of characteristics and traits allotted to it. Fans may also download wallpapers and screensavers from the Zoozoo microsite.
